Please, defund the police and keep universal rent control. Listen to the voices of the community (and not only to rich white property owners), listen to Black and Brown people and their voices, and make Culver City a welcoming, diverse, inclusive, safe, and fair to everybody

I am in favor of permanent rent control in Culver City because the COVID-19 pandemic has already made it difficult to make ends meet and I have a landlord that always increases the rent by the highest percent he can (currently 3%). Not only does the landlord increase the rent whenever he can, but he doesn't repair the apartment building. There is black mold in my apartment and it's causing the wood to be weak and damaged in some parts of the wall. There should be a measure that prevents landlords from increasing the rent, unless all aspects of the apartment building are in good condition. The head of my household has a disability and there should be a measure that protects disabled people in Culver City against rent increases that are too high for them to pay.

I would like to continue to live in Culver City and for my daughter to attend school here. Any further increases in my rent will force me to move out of my home. Thank you for addressing this in the meeting tomorrow. I tried submitting my comment , but it did not accept my submission. Thank you
