On April 26th, 2020 Councilwoman Sahli-Wells ( then Mayor) narrated a video titled, “Dear Culver City”. In that video she touted the “Essential workers among us are the Unsung Heroes” as the camera pans in front of the CCPD and CCFD stations. CCPD is NOT Minneapolis PD. I implore you not to make a decision based on feelings and emotion, but rather one based on reason and logic. Please do not make a decision that will adversely affect the fine residents and business owners of Culver City. Do NOT defund CCPD!

Very similar to the workings of a chancellor I use to know that clouded the judgement of others.

Homeowners and business owners pay an 11% UUt tax to fund these departments since early 2000's . These departments and their budgets should be left alone and ONLY changed by approval from homeowners and business owners not TEMPORARY elected officials. CC resident of 30 years.

We have the best response times in LA County our CCPD is worthy of praise. There is NO systemic racism and they are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. They are protecting us and not getting any support. They are working on 8cantwait protocols to be even better but defunding them is NOT the answer and will only cause more crime which is already up around the county and will put our citizens in danger. Very unwise and a cancel culture reaction.
